The Passion of the Christ

Have you seen the recent film by Mel Gibson dealing with the last 12 hours of Jesus' life?  Would you like to know  more about Christ's Passion and what it means for us? The following links will take you to a number will helpful sites containing study materials and articles that throw additional light on Christ's passion.

As one commentator summarized this article,

Gibson communicates through the eyes; Bach via the ears.

The Purpose Driven Life

The book "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest California has been all the rage within Christian circles recently.  It has made it onto the New York Times bestseller list and is being studied by many churches around the continent, all of whom hope that the recommendations within it will energize their membership, increase member involvement and hopefully, result in church growth.

The book says a number of things that appeal to the old Adam within us (i.e. our fallen human nature), but are its teachings sound?  Do they accurately reflect what the Scriptures say about the grace of God the Father as revealed in His Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?  Lutheran pastors and theologians have studied the book in detail.  In a two hour roundtable discussion, they share their observations and their concerns.  If you want to be informed about God's purpose for your life, and what He has done for you, you owe it to yourself to read the following transcript:
