Ecclesiastical Calendar and Lectionaries
Saint Luke, along with many other congregations in the Lutheran Church - Canada, uses a three year lectionary of Scripture readings for each Sunday within the Church Year. In addition to the three year lectionary, there is also a daily lectionary that provides scripture readings for each day of the year. Follow the links below to get access to the lectionaries. The Church Year Calendar link takes you to a lectionary with hyperlinks to the actual sections of Scripture. The 2005-2006 Calendar will be added when it becomes available.
Online Daily Bible Readings
The links shown below will connect you with daily Scripture readings in a number of different formats. All of these use the English Standard Version (ESV) bible, a high quality, accurate and very readable new translation that was published in 2001. In November 2003 the ESV was selected as the "primary translation" in the new Lutheran hymnal and in the "agenda" for pastors that will be used by the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) and Lutheran Church - Canada (LC-C), both of which are scheduled for publication in 2006.
